The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in several regions of India from September 24 to 30, particularly in North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala.
In Delhi, residents experienced a warm morning on Wednesday, with a minimum temperature of 26.8 degrees Celsius, nearly three degrees higher than normal for this time of year. The weather office predicts light rain throughout the day, which is expected to cool things down. The IMD indicated that the sky will be mostly cloudy, with possible light rain or drizzle. As of 8:30 AM, humidity was at 84 percent, and later in the day, the maximum temperature could reach 36 degrees Celsius.
On September 24, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of North Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam, as well as in Coastal Karnataka on September 24 and 25, and in South Interior Karnataka on September 25.
Additionally, widespread light to moderate rainfall is predicted for Konkan & Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada over the next three days. After this period, similar rainfall is expected across the region for the following four days, including Saurashtra & Kutch throughout the week. On September 25, there may also be isolated heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
In Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh, light to moderate rainfall is expected over the next three days, with similar conditions anticipated in Madhya Pradesh throughout the week. Over the next seven days, widespread light to moderate rainfall is also expected across Northeast India and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
