Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir are being held for the first time in nearly a decade, following the removal of Article 370. The elections are taking place in three phases, with the first phase completed on September 18. The second phase is scheduled for September 25, and the final phase will occur on October 1. Election results will be announced on October 8.
In the first phase, voting took place across six districts for 24 assembly seats—16 in Kashmir and 8 in Jammu.
Rahul Gandhi’s Campaign Rallies
Today, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi will hold two campaign rallies in Jammu and Kashmir just ahead of the second phase of elections. His first rally is set for 12 p.m. in Surankote, Poonch, followed by a second rally in Central Shalteng, Srinagar, at 1:30 p.m., according to party officials.
