Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, held a shikara rally on Srinagar’s Dal Lake to support Tanveer Sadiq, the party’s candidate from Zadibal. The rally featured colorful displays, with enthusiastic supporters chanting party slogans and singing songs.
During the event, Omar spoke to the media about the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir. He claimed that the BJP aims for a hung assembly to prolong governor rule in the region, but he is confident that the NC-Congress alliance will form the next government. “We will ensure that the BJP cannot extend governor rule,” he stated.
When asked about the BJP’s focus on Jammu, Omar asserted, “The BJP has no stake in Kashmir and is using the Jammu campaign for their central politics.” He criticized the BJP for not having Muslim representation in Parliament, despite the significant Muslim population in the region.
Omar emphasized the beauty of Kashmir while acknowledging the hardships many residents face. He encouraged voters to express their concerns through their votes and highlighted their efforts to inform the public about the BJP’s intentions.
He also noted that various parties in Kashmir are uniting against the NC-Congress alliance but expressed confidence based on public feedback that they will secure a government in Jammu and Kashmir.
