The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at seven locations in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday as part of their investigation into the Reasi bus attack, which killed nine pilgrims. The raids focused on areas linked to hybrid terrorists and Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) in the Rajouri and Reasi districts.
The NIA had previously searched several sites in Rajouri in June, shortly after the attack. On June 9, terrorists opened fire on a bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori to Katra, causing the bus to fall into a gorge and resulting in nine deaths, including that of a child, and injuring over 30 people.
The NIA took over the investigation on June 15, following orders from the Ministry of Home Affairs. During earlier searches, they found evidence connecting the arrested suspect, Hakam Khan (alias Hakin din), to the terrorists. Khan had allegedly provided them with shelter, food, and logistics.
The recent searches aimed to uncover more links between the terrorists and OGWs, following the identification of specific locations by the accused. The Jammu and Kashmir police had reported that at least two terrorists were involved in the attack.
