The Supreme Court has given a big relief to Jaggi Vasudev’s Isha Foundation by telling the Tamil Nadu Police to stop any actions related to a Madras High Court order. This order was about investigating claims that two women were illegally kept at the ashram.
The Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, made this decision after the Isha Foundation appealed against the High Court’s order from September 30, which asked the Coimbatore Police to collect details about the case. The court ruled that the police should not take any further steps based on the High Court’s instructions.
This situation started when a man filed a petition saying his two daughters were being held against their will at the Isha Foundation. During the court session, the two women spoke via video call and said they were living at the foundation voluntarily and that the police had left the ashram the night before. The Supreme Court plans to hear the case again during the week of October 14 and has asked the police to submit a report about the situation.
