Kadyan, who ran as an independent candidate after leaving the BJP shortly before the Haryana Assembly elections, believes that aligning with the ruling party is crucial to meet the needs of his constituents. He stated, “I am supporting the BJP government. All the 36 communities of Ganaur voted for me, and their needs can only be met by joining the government. We will support the BJP for Ganaur’s development. I used to be in the BJP, and everyone there is like family… I am not rejoining the party, but I will support the government.”
Kadyan had a strong showing in the last election, defeating Congress candidate Kuldip Sharma by a significant margin of 35,209 votes, receiving a total of 77,248 votes. In contrast, the BJP candidate Devender Kaushik received only 17,605 votes.
Kadyan’s path to becoming the Ganaur MLA was marked by his departure from the BJP. Just days before the elections, he announced his resignation from the party during a live Facebook session, criticizing the BJP for undermining democratic practices by selling tickets. After being denied a party ticket, Kadyan chose to run as an independent candidate, quickly gaining support in Ganaur.
