Despite being released three weeks ago, ‘Stree 2’ remains a favorite among audiences. As reported by Sacnilk, the horror-comedy film earned nearly Rs 5.5 crore at the Indian box office on Wednesday, September 4.

Stree 2’ Approaching the Rs 500 Crore Milestone
Directed by Amar Kaushik, ‘Stree 2’ stars Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao and is closing in on the Rs 500 crore mark, with its total collection standing at Rs 497.8 crore. The film has garnered positive reception in both mass centers and metropolitan areas. The success of ‘Stree 2’ can be attributed to the cult following of its predecessor, ‘Stree,’ which was released in 2018.
About Stree 2
Set in Chanderi, ‘Stree 2’ follows the story of Sarkata, a headless ghoul who kidnaps “progressive” women as a form of punishment. The film features a strong cast including Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, with cameos from Akshay Kumar, Tamannaah, and Varun Dhawan. As a sequel to the 2018 hit ‘Stree,’ it continues the Bollywood horror-comedy universe, which includes Varun Dhawan’s ‘Bhediya’ and the Sharvari-fronted ‘Munjya.’
This is Shraddha Kapoor’s first film release since the romantic comedy ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,’ which opened in theaters in 2023. Directed by Luv Ranjan, it marked her first collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor and performed well at the box office. For Rajkummar Rao, ‘Stree 2’ is his first release following the sports drama ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi,’ which received negative reviews and underperformed.
‘Stree 2’ remains in theaters and continues to attract audiences with its engaging storyline and successful blend of horror and comedy.
