Palak Sindhwani, known for her role as Sonu Bhide in *Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah*, has opened up about her experience with producer Asit Modi, claiming she was threatened when she expressed a desire to leave the show. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Palak shared that she felt exhausted and wanted to take a break, but was met with intimidation instead.
During a meeting on September 18, she reported that the production team threatened to delete her Instagram account and claimed they could jeopardize her brand endorsements. “They said they could wipe out my social media in an instant because they have a strong team,” she stated.
Palak pointed out that many actors on the show were able to do brand endorsements without issues, questioning why she was singled out for breaching her contract. She noted that the response she received was rude, with harsh language used against her.
Furthermore, Palak mentioned that she has been dealing with health issues, which contributed to her desire to quit. “My doctor advised me to reduce stress and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” she explained, adding that she was planning to leave the show.
In December 2023, Palak first expressed her wish to leave to the production head, only to be told it wasn’t the right time as another actor was also planning to exit. She concluded by stating that she is tired of working in television and needs a break from the medium. Many actors have left the show over various disputes, including the first major departure of Disha Vakani.
