Banks in several states will be closed on September 7 due to the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi. It’s important to check the list of states where banks will be closed before visiting your branch this month.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has confirmed that banks will be closed on September 7 for Ganesh Chaturthi/Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha)/Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata/Vinayakar Chathurthi in certain states.
According to the RBI holiday calendar, the closure will not be uniform across the country. Banks will be closed in Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, and Hyderabad (in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). Banks in other parts of India will remain open as usual.

The RBI’s holiday calendar for September 2024 includes the following key dates when bank branches will be closed:
– September 7: Ganesh Chaturthi / Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha) / Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata / Vinayakar Chathurthi
– September 14: Karma Puja / First Onam (also the 2nd Saturday of the month)
– September 16: Milad-un-Nabi or Id-e Milad (Birthday of Prophet Mohammad) (Bara Vafat)
– September 17: Indrajatra / Id-e-Milad (Milad-Un-Nabi)
– September 18: Pang-Lhabsol
– September 20: Friday following Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi

**Weekend Bank Closures in September 2024**
In addition to the holidays, banks will be closed on weekends as follows:
– Sundays: September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
– Second Saturday: September 14
– Fourth Saturday: September 28
