Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently spoke to the Indian community at the Nassau Coliseum in New York. He highlighted the strong connection between India and the United States, saying that “AI” not only means artificial intelligence but also stands for the “American-Indian spirit.”
Modi praised the Indian diaspora, calling them India’s best representatives, or “Rashtradoot,” and thanked them for linking India and America. He noted, “Your skills and talents are exceptional,” and emphasized that no distance can break their ties with India.
He also mentioned the idea of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” which means “the world is one family.” Modi appreciated the diversity of languages and cultures in India, celebrating how Indians abroad carry these values with them.
The Prime Minister talked about the growing partnership between India and the US in technology, especially in areas like artificial intelligence and energy. He highlighted the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) as a key step in this collaboration.
The event attracted 15,000 members of the Indian community from 42 states, who welcomed PM Modi with cheers. There were also performances by local Indian artists, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Later, PM Modi will hold important meetings and attend a CEO Roundtable, as well as speak at the Summit of the Future on September 23.
