Union Home Minister Amit Shah is holding five rallies today for the phase 3 elections in Jammu and Kashmir. His schedule includes stops in Chenani, Udhampur, Bani, Jasrota, and Madh.
At a rally in Nowshera, Shah reassured people that they should not fear attacks from Pakistan. He stated that if Pakistan fires at India, the response will be strong. He also mentioned that the bunkers built in border areas are now unnecessary.
Shah criticized the Congress and National Conference (NC) for not supporting reservations for communities such as Gujjars, Bakarwals, and Paharis. He referenced comments from Rahul Gandhi in the U.S. that suggested reservations are no longer needed.
He accused NC leader Farooq Abdullah of misleading people about reservations and promised that the BJP would ensure these communities receive the support they deserve after the elections. Shah emphasized that as long as Narendra Modi is Prime Minister, their reservations will be safe.
Shah also stated that the Modi government is dedicated to fighting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He insisted that there can be no talks with Pakistan until terrorism is completely addressed. He assured the audience that no terrorists or stone pelters would be released from jail.
He criticized the NC and Congress for wanting to change the names of local hills, insisting that those names will stay the same. Shah urged voters to support BJP candidate Ravinder Raina, highlighting his strong voice in Delhi.
Shah highlighted the improved security in Jammu and Kashmir since the BJP took power. He mentioned that even the Home Minister can now visit places like Lal Chowk in Srinagar without fear. He promised new tourist destinations in Jammu, increased health benefits, and more financial support for families.
